How to Make Simple Syrup

1 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup of water

Pour sugar and water into a sauce pan and heat on low to medium.  Stir constantly, until sugar is completely dissolved. This only takes about 2 to 3 minutes.

Allow to cool before use. Yields about 1 1/2 cups.

I usually make more than a recipe calls for and pour the excess syrup in a mason jar and refrigerate for future use.
