Toilet Cleaning & Deodorizing Bomb Recipe

How to make toilet cleaning fizzies and bombs

Let's face it, we all hate cleaning them. We all especially hate the idea of cleaning them when we've had guests. But its a necessity. I'm talking about the nasty subject of cleaning the toilet. What if you can prolong the time between deep cleanings, or easily freshen it up while you have guests? You can. All you have to do it toss one of these little guys in and let it do its magic. The best part? It only costs about .09 to .11 cents a tablet to make. Even guests can help out. Just keep an airtight container of them in your bathroom, in easy view, and label them, "Toilet Cleaning Fizzies." They'll get the hint.

Where to buy supplies.

4 Cups of Baking Soda

1 Cup of Citric Acid Powder

1/4 Cup of Salt (if you have hard water)

2 Tbls of Dawn Dish Detergent

30 drops of Peppermint or any Essential oil of your choice

2 - 18 count Styrofoam egg crates or 3 - 12 count egg crates
Cardboard or rigid item to turn cubes out on and to dry
Whisk or fork
Large mixing bowl

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the Baking Soda and Citric Acid. (Add Salt, if you have hard water)

Add 30 drops of Essential Oil and whisk into powders.

Add all of dish detergent and mix.

The powders may start to grow a bit but that is normal.

Press mixture into egg crates. Allow to air dry for about an hour. You can make smaller ones, in an ice cube tray, to use on a daily basis, if you wish.

Turn crates upside down on a rigid surface. You will need to press on the bottom of the crate of each cube, to get them to release and drop from the crate. Allow them to sit for about 4 hours to dry.

Once completely dry, store cubes in an airtight container.

When you're ready to use, just drop one in your toilet bowl and let it do the work. It will work with the water in your bowl to deodorize and clean.
